Ancient Dungeon VR’s upcoming update, detailed in a new developer blog, introduces a new floor, enemies, relics, and augments to the roguelite dungeon crawler.

Ancient Dungeon has been in Early Access for five years now and looks set to receive its biggest update. A new developer blog on the Ancient Dungeon YouTube channel detailed a plethora of new content.

The full video is worth watching for a detailed breakdown. Here’s a quick list of what to expect:

  • A new floor, The Sunken Courtyard – This new environment will be an alternative option to the existing game’s first floor, with new hazards and enemies.
  • Critical Damage Stat System – Critical damage gets an official stat line now, allowing players to do crit-focused builds during runs.
  • New Relics and Augments – A number of new relics and augments, some focused on the new critical damage stat line, allowing for a wider variety of builds.
  • The Ice Orb: A new magical orb allowing players to freeze enemies.
  • Improvements to homebase: The player hub will get new background music options and visual enhancements.

The end of the dev blog teased a new dungeon generator to be detailed in a later video. This blog did not indicate when the new update will be available.

Ancient Dungeon VR is available now on Meta QuestSteam, and PlayStation VR2.
