Omega Pilot Evolution, a high-speed VR futuristic racing game, blasts onto PlayStation VR2 today.
As part of today’s VR Showcase, developer XOCUS (makers of EXOcars) has announced that their first-person futuristic racing game Omega Pilot Evolution is out now on PlayStation VR2.
Omega Pilot Evolution is described by its developer as “a high-speed futuristic racing experience that pushes the limits of anti-gravity flight.” So, it’s basically Wipeout in VR (a very cool thing, to be clear).
Omega Pilot Evolution is playable in VR or in flat screen mode, and cross-platform multiplayer lets friends (and strangers) race in the same lobby regardless of whether or not they own a VR headset. It should also be noted that every copy of Omega Pilot Evolution includes both the VR and flat screen versions.

There’s also real-time multiplayer (online for up to five players), leaderboards for asynchronous multiplayer, a combat racing mode, intelligent matchmaking, and plenty of customization and upgrades.
Omega Pilot Evolution is out now on PlayStation 5 and PSVR2. It’s also coming to Meta Quest on August 27, with Steam and PICO versions planned for a fall 2026 release.
